    Refrigerators

The 36-inch-wide LG LRFXC2416S comes loaded with the features we track and more: shelves that can be adjusted without moving the food on them, air and water filters, and a second icemaker (in addition to the dispenser in the door) that molds elegantly curved and oversized cubes for cocktails. This model is similar to the CR-tested (but now discontinued) LG LRFXC2406S, and we expect it to perform comparably. The tested model delivered excellent scores for performance almost across the board. The one exception is energy efficiency, where its midlevel score was in the bottom half of the pack.

Why it’s a good deal: You’re saving nearly $1,000 compared with the original price.

The 28-inch Samsung RT16A6195SR turns in a solid, above-average performance among top-freezers, notching our highest possible scores for thermostat control, temperature uniformity, and energy efficiency, while earning a middling noise rating. (Its ease of use gets a less-than-satisfactory rating, but that’s typical for top-freezers.) Features are scarce here, per the norm, but it does come with gallon storage on the door and spillproof shelves. In our member surveys, Samsung top-freezers receive an exemplary score for predicted reliability but just a passable one for owner satisfaction. This model has an optional icemaker.

Why it’s a good deal: This is a modest discount. But the price may improve closer to Labor Day, so keep an eye on it for now.

The Amana ASI2175GRS is a solid refrigerator all-around, garnering above-average ratings for thermostat control and temperature uniformity. This 33-inch model is a bit light on features, but it has an external water/ice dispenser, gallon-sized storage bins on the doors, and digital controls.

Why it’s a good deal: It’s a solid discount for a solid performer from our ratings.

The affordable 28-inch Frigidaire FFHT1425VV is a great top-freezer with respect to performance. It’s extremely energy-efficient, and it garners solid scores in all other tests except ease of use, where it receives an unsatisfactory rating (although that’s similar to many other top-freezers). According to our latest member survey, Frigidaire top-freezers are reliable, but they have a poor owner satisfaction score.

Why it’s a good deal: This is a nice discount on one of the lower-priced models that performs well in CR’s tests.

    Washing Machines

The LG WT7405CW is the top-rated top-load agitator in our ratings. Its 85-minute wash cycle requires patience, and it’s kind of rough on fabric, so you may want to consider the delicate cycle for your best threads. But it’ll clean your clothes effectively. It receives stellar ratings for water and energy efficiency and a strong score for washing performance. Check your space, because this washer’s measurements differ slightly from standard models. It stands at 44.5 inches tall, 27.5 inches wide, and 28.5 inches deep.

Why it’s a good deal: This washer is now $50 less than we saw during Memorial Day weekend.

Overall, the Electrolux ELFW4222AW performs very well across CR’s tests. Its washing performance and water efficiency are excellent, and its energy efficiency, its gentleness on clothes, and the vibrations experienced during its 65-minute operation are rated very good. CR members report that Electrolux, as a company, has excellent predicted reliability (Electrolux and LG are the only companies with a compact washing machine to achieve this rating), though its owner satisfaction score is only adequate.

Why it’s a good deal: This is now $50 more than the lowest price we’ve seen for this model, but the price may drop again closer to Labor Day, so keep an eye on it.

One of the most budget-friendly top-load agitators in our tests, the LG WT7005CW delivers across the board. This eco-friendly Green Choice washer isn’t the gentlest on clothes, but it conserves energy and water. It’s among the quietest models in our tests and causes little to no vibration, meaning it won’t disturb you with rumbling. The cycle time is 70 minutes using the normal wash, heavy-soil setting. Shorten it by using the normal soil setting when you can.

Why it’s a good deal: This is the first time we’ve seen this model on sale in months.

The LG WT7305CW is a winner in so many ways. This agitator top-loader’s washing performance and water efficiency are top-notch. It’s also highly energy-efficient; though its wash time is relatively long (70 minutes) it extracts more water, which makes for shorter dry times. With a fairly roomy claimed capacity of 4.8 cubic feet, it can handle relatively large loads, including a king-sized comforter. It’s not the quietest machine, though, and gentleness is not great. If the price isn’t right, try the LG WT7155CW, a highly rated model that we expect will perform similarly for less.

Why it’s a good deal: Best Buy has a hefty discount right now that you won’t find elsewhere.

The LG WT7150CW ranks among the top high-efficiency washing machines in CR’s tests, primarily for its first-rate cleaning performance, water efficiency, and vibration. It also earns a top rating for energy efficiency, but its gentleness on clothes is middling. It can still handle big loads within its slight interior and exterior frame: 5 cubic feet, 44.5 inches high, 29.1 inches deep, and the standard 27 inches wide. LG’s HE washing machines earned top marks for predicted reliability in CR’s latest member survey, so they’re less likely to develop problems or break within the first five years.

    Clothes Dryers

We expect the top-rated LG DLE3400W to perform similarly to the CR-tested LG DLEX3700W (now discontinued). The tested model delivers solid performance across the board, nabbing an ace rating for noise and ratings near the top in our drying and convenience tests. This stackable Energy Star certified machine, with a claimed capacity of 7.4 cubic feet, is equipped with a moisture sensor, an extended tumble, custom programs, and an end-of-cycle signal—offering all of these features at a fairly low price.

Why it’s a good deal: This is a significant discount from the full price.

The LG DLEX4500B certainly has no shortage of bells and whistles: It features a moisture sensor, a steam option, a duct block indicator, WiFi connectivity, and an extended tumble cycle. It’s also a great performer all-around, garnering a stellar score for drying and our second-highest scores for noise output and convenience. And don’t forget: LG electric dryers get excellent reliability and owner satisfaction ratings in our member survey.

Why it’s a good deal: This is the only place to get this high-end dryer at a discount right now.

    Dishwashers

Those looking for a budget-friendly dishwasher that offers solid performance may find it in this GE model. For less than $700, it consistently delivers clean dishes with each wash, according to CR’s tests. Drawbacks include a less-than-stellar drying performance and a somewhat noisy operation. But with a cycle time of 125 minutes—the shortest on this list—you may be able to brush aside the inconveniences. GE receives a midlevel rating for predicted reliability but an unfavorable one for owner satisfaction.

Why it’s a good deal: This $250 savings is a significant reduction from the full price.

This Café dishwasher performs well in our cleaning test. It’s quiet and energy-efficient, the only model in our Best of the Year roundup to earn CR’s Green Choice designation. The model comes with a third rack that can hold small utensils. It also has special wash zones, meaning that if you have a smaller load, you can choose a specific section in the dishwasher to clean instead of running the full dishwasher. Café dishwashers earn middling ratings in both predicted reliability and owner satisfaction from CR members.

Why it’s a good deal: You’re saving hundreds with this discount. But it was $50 cheaper for July Fourth and the price may fall again closer to Labor Day.

The Whirlpool WDTA50SAKZ dishwasher is a strong performer with a third rack and an upscale look for the price, including integrated controls. Whirlpool also earned a very good rating for predicted reliability and a midlevel score for owner satisfaction, based on data from our reader survey. It’s similar to lower-end models from the KitchenAid brand, which is also owned by Whirlpool.

Why it’s a good deal: This is already one of the best options under $1,000, and it’s at its lowest price right now.

    Induction Cooktops and Ranges

    Gas Ranges

This top-of-the-line gas range from LG provides stellar performance and helpful features, making it our top pick for a single-oven gas range. It excels on top of the stove, heating water quickly and proving adept at maintaining a steady simmer. It bakes and broils evenly, and it’s packed with features including an integrated griddle burner, convection, an air fry setting in the oven, and even a built-in temperature probe for cooking roasts and poultry to the perfect internal temperature.

Why it’s a good deal: You’re saving about $400 compared with the usual price.

This sleek GE slide-in offers performance on a par with plenty of the competition, but it offers one major advantage. GE gas ranges are among the most reliable of any brand in our surveys. In addition to stellar reliability, this model performs admirably on top of the stove—heating fast and maintaining steady simmers—and in the oven, earning solid scores for both baking and broiling. This range comes with features like an integrated griddle burner, convection, and WiFi connectivity.

Why it’s a good deal: You’re saving over $700 on this model.

    Electric Ranges

The LG LTE4815ST, a handsome electric range with double convection ovens, packs in a lot for the money. It offers a slide-in design and earned the top marks in nearly all our tests. (Baking was the only exception, but it scored above average nonetheless.) Notably spacious, it allows for plenty of food to fit into each oven, and it’s one of the only electric smoothtops we’ve tested to offer a self-clean setting. Plus, LG earns a top-notch predicted reliability rating for its electric ranges, according to our member surveys, but the brand’s owner satisfaction score is lukewarm.

Why it’s a good deal: This is a hefty discount, falling $500 since July Fourth and only available at this price at Best Buy.

    Wine Refrigerators

The Antarctic Star 36 Bottle Wine Cooler is the best freestanding wine fridge in our ratings by a healthy margin. In our lab tests, it offers very good temperature performance but only decent energy efficiency and middling noise output (meaning it’s somewhat noisier than other tested models). This Antarctic Star fridge features temperature controls on the front of the unit, child control locks, and shelf stops, but it lacks a door lock.

Why it’s a good deal: The on-page coupon takes a big chunk off the price.

The Kalamera 30 Bottle Wine Fridge is the only undercounter wine fridge in our ratings, but its performance is on a par with the freestanding models we’ve tested. It offers great temperature performance and moderate noise output but less than favorable energy efficiency. This Kalamera features a tinted glass door, a door lock, and shelf stops, but its temperature controls are inside the storage cavity, meaning you have to open the door to make temperature adjustments.

Why it’s a good deal: This model has been on sale for a little while now. It was over $700 a few months ago, making this an even sweeter offer.

The NewAir 23 Bottle Wine Refrigerator also offers great temperature performance, and it manages to run quieter than the Antarctic above, based on our noise tests. Its energy efficiency is also acceptable, but it’s not great. This NewAir features temperature controls on the front of the unit with child control locks, but it lacks shelf stops and a door lock.

Why it’s a good deal: Amazon is the only retailer selling this fridge at this price.
